A complete stranger came along and put her life at risk, and “by the grace of God,” she pulled a man paralyzed from the waist down out of a burning vehicle. 

Life is a series of unexpected, unforeseen events. Some of those occurrences are welcome and joyous occasions. However, sometimes they do not produce any joy. In fact, they can be downright devastating and tragic. But during these trials and hardships, the love and kindness of others can make a world of difference. It can even save a life, as was the case for a Dallas, Texas, man.

Dennis Brown, who is confined to a wheelchair, was in a rental car when the vehicle burst into flames, according to a video posted on YouTube. The video of the scary incident shows the flames extending several feet from the front of the car, sending smoke high into the sky above.

Dennis mentioned that he had rented that vehicle several times before and stated that the car felt as if it was about to give out. When he looked up, he spotted the flames shooting from the car’s front end. 

He then said a woman pulled him out of the burning car, moving him to safety. Dennis said that he would like to have the opportunity to show his gratitude to his rescuer, calling her move a “heroic act.”

But Dennis is not the only person grateful for saving his life. Dennis’ mother, Julia Brown, will be forever indebted to the mystery woman for what she did for her son.

“I cannot thank her enough,” Julia said. “Because if she hadn’t had pulled him out of there, he would have burned. She was his angel by the grace of God.”

That mother and son will be forever grateful for the heroic deed of that unnamed woman.

Two people, including a police officer, were in the right place at the right time and helped to save the life of a child who had stopped breathing.

Life is the most precious thing on earth. As such, it must be valued and protected at all costs. Loved ones can be here one minute and gone the next. The New Testament book of James describes our lives as a “mist.” It is “seen for a little time and then is gone.”

Understanding how precious life is, a video posted on YouTube shows a mother on a train platform frantically approaching a police officer when her child stopped breathing. 

The video shows a mother at a train station running up to the officer in hysterics. The woman hands her child over to the police officer, who then turns the child over, facedown, and starts rapidly patting the child on the back. 

Then, as the officer explains, someone else, a man who had been trained for such situations happened to walk up to the train platform.

“A retired paramedic came up, let me know that he is, you know, a retired EMT,” Officer Shaquille Perez said. “He took over, grabbed the baby, put him in the back seat of my squad car and needed some AC.”

The clip shows the retired emergency medical worker sitting with the child in the car, and seconds later, the child begins crying. 

The police officer and the retired EMT helped save the child’s life! The Lord placed those two individuals in the right place at the right time. 

However, the memory of the incident with the baby will remain with Officer Perez, who is about to become a father, for a long time. 

“Something about, like, having that moment with the baby, I think it’ll probably stay with me the rest of my life,” he said.

A woman put her own life at risk when she jumped into a lake to save a 4-year-old child with autism from drowning. 

The world is a dark and dangerous place, especially for young children. As every parent knows, young children must be under nearly constant surveillance. Every item is a potential choking hazard to a young child as everything ends up in a kid’s mouth. 

In addition to choking, children can put themselves in even further danger, which two people in Michigan learned. A video posted on YouTube, shows one woman, Jessica Bauer, jumping into a lake without any hesitation to rescue a 4-year-old boy with autism. 

The short begins with a close-up shot of the little guy running toward the body of water. Viewers can then see the child walk right into the lake. Seconds later, the 4-year-old’s grandmother and Jessica, a neighbor, walk out into the backyard. 

The grandmother, who was babysitting, screams in utter fear and panic, “He’s in the water!”

Jessica, after spotting the young man, immediately runs toward the water, ditches her phone, and then hops right into the lake. She didn’t give it a second thought. 

Jessica saved the young man’s life!

Following the rescue, Jessica recalled the horrifying situation and her heroic actions.

“All I can do is doggy paddle,” Jessica said.

He added that despite her limited swimming ability, she “really did not think much into it.”

The mother of the 4-year-old, understandably, is forever grateful for Jessica’s quick-thinking and selfless actions. She even referred to Jessica as a heavenly being.

“She’s literally an angel from above, especially for being at the right place at the right time,” the 4-year-old’s mother said. 

Jessica, who is also a mother of a 3-year-old, is the definition of a hero. She risked her own life and safety to rescue someone from a dangerous, likely deadly situation.

A Minnesota sheriff’s deputy is a hero after he caught and rescued two children who were dropped from a house engulfed in flames.

Law enforcement members experience stressful, dangerous and deadly situations on a regular basis. The decisions and actions of police officers and deputies during those tense, nerve-racking moments can be the difference between life and death. 

One sheriff’s deputy in Minnesota, Thomas Roble, experienced one of those anxiety-filled and panic-stricken instances when he was the first person on the scene of a house fire. Thomas’ heroic actions saved the lives of a family of four, which included two young children. 

In the clip posted on YouTube, the deputy sprints to the house on fire, where four people – the DeLange family – are trapped inside the burning structure. Once the deputy gets to the house, he learns that the mother and father are near a second-floor window with their two children. 

With little time remaining and their options for escaping the structure severely limited, Deputy Thomas Roble tells Mom and Dad to let go of the children and drop them to him. 

The deputy catches the 1-year-old boy, and the 3-year-old girl and then moves them to safety, as the video shows. The children suffered only minor injuries, just some smoke inhalation.

Mom and Dad, with no other way to get out, were forced to jump from the second-story window. Mom suffered a broken back, and Dad broke a vertebra as a result of their jump, but everyone is still alive.

We can’t thank him [the deputy] enough,” Dad said. “You know, if he hadn’t shown up when he did, we probably wouldn’t have made it.”

“We were told we had seconds left,” mom said. 

That deputy’s heroic and quick-thinking actions saved the lives of that family of four. He saved the young children from suffering devastating and possibly deadly injuries.

A New Mexico State Police officer is a hero after rescuing a baby experiencing  problems breathing.

The men and women who work in law enforcement can encounter frightening scenes. Police officers are usually the first people on the scene during an emergency or immediately following one. 

That is what happened to New Mexico State Police officer Ismael Perez. He happened to be in the right place at the right time during an emergency and prevented it from being a fatal disaster.

In a clip posted on YouTube, Miguel Covarrubias hurriedly rushed his pregnant wife, who was in active labor, to the hospital when he caught the attention of police. Officer Perez spotted Miguel running a red light on his way to the emergency room. 

After Miguel and Officer Perez arrived near the front of the hospital’s entrance, the officer learned something was terribly wrong. The baby had been born in the car, but it was not breathing.

The clip mentions that during labor the baby boy’s umbilical cord had become “compressed.” That’s when Officer Perez sprang into action and utilized a maneuver. He began to pound on the child’s back, desperately trying to get the child to cry and breathe.

It eventually worked! In the video, the baby can be heard crying.

“I have three kids of my own,” Officer Perez said. “So, I’ve seen the doctors do that with my daughters because they came out of the womb the same way, not crying or anything. So, I did the same thing.”

Miguel said he was terrified at that moment, but was grateful for Officer Perez’s quick-thinking. 

The video also mentions that all three – Miguel, the baby boy and the mother – are doing fine.
