We cannot escape God’s presence. We can be unaware of His presence, but we can't escape His presence. He hasn't gone anywhere. I haven't gone anywhere, and neither have you—even when we're completely oblivious to Him. We just automatically assume that when we lose sight of Him, He has lost sight of us. If we are unaware of His presence, for whatever reason, we assume that He is nowhere to be found. If you have this mindset, get rid of it! You simply cannot develop a close relationship with the Lord if you think that you can be separated from Him. You can lose sight of Him, but He will still be where He has always been—right where you are. You can't, however, experience that reality if you're trying to experience His presence with your physical senses. You have to experience God's presence with your faith. givemethatmountain.org/article/faith-and-unbelief-day-fifty/
There's nothing like stunning images of our vastly vivid universe to put into perspective "the God who made the world and all things in it"! This video featuring Acts 24, verses 24 through 28 really made me stop and revel in the complexity and awesomeness of my relationship with the Creator.
Money, fame, power, and glory—I have chased after all of these things at one time or another. And while I’ve seen many people who appear to be successful in chasing after the same things, I haven’t done all that well myself. But I’m beginning to realize that I should thank the Lord that I haven’t. Money, fame, power, and glory can certainly be sought after and obtained through human effort. And money, fame, power, and glory can be given to us by God. When all these things are given to us through our relationship with God, they come to us as a blessing. But when we chase after all these things apart from our relationship with God, they come to us as a curse. givemethatmountain.org/article/faith-and-unbelief-day-forty-six/
This is an Introductory song about all of the Beattiudes. Then there is a song about each one of the Beatitudes. They are great stored up blessings for every believer with Our Lord. He wants us to incorporate them into our lives. They will bring us closer to Our Lord and "Heavenly Living on earth"!
Dr. Dobson is reminded of a touching life lesson he learned many years ago involving a stray cat unsuccessfully fending for itself, and how it offers parallels to how we should consider the plight of many "stray" young people who are trying to find their way in a hostile world.
Money, fame, power, and glory (with all their destructive associations) are just a few of the things that I see other people chasing after—and if the truth be known that I’ve chased after myself. Chasing after those four things seems a bit—well—worldly, doesn’t it. But what if I told you that God knows you need those things, even if you aren’t supposed to chase after them? Sound crazy? Or at least confusing? But it's only confusing because we don't understand how something given to us through God is so very different than the exact same thing taken by us through our own devices. Money, fame, power, and glory can be sought after and obtained through human effort; people do it all the time—and most of the time to their own detriment. But money, fame, power, and glory can also be given to us by God. When all these things are given to us through God, they come to us as a blessing. But when we chase after all these things apart from our relationship with God, they come to us as a curse.
