Sickness and disease develop in an environment conducive to sickness and disease. It may be an environment of someone else’s making. Or it may be an environment of my own making. Regardless of who’s responsible for this toxic environment, doesn’t it make sense for me to clean it up in ways that would stop and/or reverse the destruction—that would stop and/or reverse Satan’s attempts to destroy my life? “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith …. (1 Peter 5:8–9a NKJV) Why does God tell me to be sober and vigilant? Why? Because, if I don't I will be eaten alive.
This dance drama is a tale of two people. One is lax in the things of God, and the other is studious in the things of God. A trial/storm hits them both. One is battered by the storm as she tries to fight under her own power, and the other is triumphant in the storm when she calls on the LORD with prayer and praise.
