John Piper argues that God has his plans, I also agree that God is all-powerful and all-knowing. God has reasons that our human limitation and temporal is not able to perceive the whole divine plan. This short period of thousands of years in which the devil and his demons are loose and doing their measly damage, have the permission of God, because when God will restore all things a parenthesis in the history of the universe where all heavenly beings will see the rebellion was a tragedy for the creatures that trod this path. The benefit of the eternal example of the fall of angels and men will only realize trillions of years from now. (Comment from theologian Valdemir Mota de Menezes, The SCRIBE)
The truth is that the Holy Bible is crystal clear in its teachings on alcohol intake. From Genesis to Revelation speaks of the alcohol as a food substance that produces entertainment and pleasure. However their intake in excess is harshly condemned by God to the point of saying that those who consume excessive drinking (drunk) will not inherit the kingdom of God. (Comment from theologian Valdemir Mota de Menezes, The SCRIBE)
Why have we been rescued? In this 6.5-minute teaching clip, JR Vassar, Lead Pastor at Apostles Church in New York City, challenges us to not forget that God saves and blesses us so that we can be a blessing to others and tell them about Him.
All of our choices have lasting effects on our children, and on others. (A sermon from Genesis 12, 20, 21, 26, and 46.)
Throughout our lives as parents, we "dig holes" for our children and others we influence. Every philosophy we live by, every habit we practice, every word we speak, every act we do --whether good or bad-- digs a "hole." The only question is: will those holes be "pits" for others to fall into, or "wells" for others to drink out of? Do all you can to ensure that the holes you dig are "wells." But, if you should dig a "pit," hand it over to God, and let him turn it into a "well."
What did the Lord Jesus promise the church before he ascended to heaven?
"But you shall receive power (ability, efficiency, and might) when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and to the ends (the very bounds) of the earth." [Acts 1:8 (AMP)]
"And now I will send the Holy Spirit, just as my Father promised. But stay here in the city until the Holy Spirit comes and fills you with power from heaven." [Luke 24:49 (NLT)]
