We began writing this song when we found out we were pregnant in May 2013... and then finished it 8 weeks later when we found out that we had lost the baby to a miscarriage.

Yes... This actually happened! He had us tweet him questions at the beginning of the night and also say our name and seat section. So I thought, let's try this... I mean I never get picked for any raffles or drawings so I was totally going out on a limb by asking "hey, can I PLEASE sing with you" and when it came time to read the questions mine was picked... Out of all the people I got the opportunity to sing with Chris Tomlin!!

"I've Got To Find Myself" is the title track of my newest CD release. The inspiration for this song came from the idea that if we were able to heal from the hurts we carry around and leave our past 'stuff' behind, we could "find ourselves" and discover the full potential of who we were meant to be.

This was actually my first spoken word piece to ever write. I wrote it 3 years ago as I was looking back on my spiritual journey and the struggles that come with growing as a Christian. Basically I grew up in the church, my dad has been the worship pastor at my home church for the last 25 years, but going to church and experiencing the freedom of the Gospel don’t always go hand in hand. Like a lot of Christians, it took me awhile to actually realize the magnitude of God’s power and the freedom that only He can give.
