Watching your teen wrestle with anxiety—the spiraling thoughts, the isolation, the "what ifs" that feel so permanent—can break a parent's heart. But what if the path forward starts with empathy, God's Word, and a simple commitment to pray together?

This week on the Praying Christian Women podcast, join us for a conversation with author and mom of four boys, Amber Lia, about co-writing You Are Seen: 90 Devotions to Encourage Stressed and Anxious Teens with her son Ollie. Drawing from Ollie's raw journey through high school anxiety, a cross-country move, and finding hope in Scripture, Amber shares honest wisdom on blending practical steps (like the 5-4-3-2-1 grounding technique, better sleep, and therapy) with spiritual anchors—memorizing verses, fostering gratitude, and releasing unforgiveness to unlock God's peace.

From resisting "thoughts and prayers" skepticism to navigating teen pushback without overwhelming them, this episode equips parents and mentors with tools to walk alongside stressed kids, build resilience, and remind them that they are seen, treasured, and never alone.

You won't want to miss this heartfelt, hope-drenched conversation that could transform how you support the teens in your life—grab You Are Seen anywhere books are sold starting October 28th (tomorrow!). What if the peace you’re looking for is already all around you?

In today’s Your Daily Prayer, we reflect on the beauty of God’s creation and how it quietly reminds us of His love and provision. Based on Matthew 6:28–30, this devotional invites you to slow down, look closer, and release the anxiety you’ve been carrying.

Jesus tells us to consider the lilies of the field—how they grow without striving, yet are fully cared for by God. If He provides for them, how much more will He provide for you?

✨ Peace begins when you pause long enough to notice Him.

We're back with another Coffee Break episode!

These are episodes where we take listener questions and have a conversation about them, share our own experiences, and give prayer tips and advice from a Biblical perspective.

This week's question from a listener is intriguing and a bit mysterious: what are we to make of stories where friends claim that deceased loved ones visit them in dreams, sharing loving messages that don't contradict God's Word?

We hope you'll join us for this thoughtful conversation about whether these experiences are biblical, potentially satanic, or somewhere in between, how to test dreams against Scripture, the dangers of seeking communication with the dead, personal stories of comfort and discernment, and so much more!

Pastor’s Powerful Story Shows Why We Should Be Slow to Anger and Careful With Our Words

This pastor’s story shows why we should be slow to anger and careful with our words. Things went in a direction he didn’t see coming, leading him to regret what he said and to seek forgiveness immediately. Watch this short, powerful, and moving clip to hear what the pastor said in anger, and why it is important to always be slow to anger, to react with love, and to keep a close watch on our tongues.

Anger is something we all experience, though some of us do so much more frequently than others. While anger is a natural reaction and response to certain situations, it’s what we do and say in that emotional state that matters. Words spoken in anger can have devastating consequences, damage relationships and cause deep hurt. Because let’s remember words, even if said in anger, can never be taken back.

As the Bible says throughout, we should be slow to anger but quick to respond with love. Also, guard against the tongue, which is sharper than any double-edged sword and can hurt and cause much destruction. In a clip posted on social media, a pastor learned this firsthand when he flew off the handle and spouted some surprisingly hurtful things.

He was upset that his room had no running water and did not like the woman at the front desk's response.

“I said, ‘Young lady, to call you stupid would be to defame the word.’ I said, ‘You owe your mother an apology for the day you were born,’” the pastor said. “And I just laid into her. The words just kept coming.”

Surprisingly, for some strange reason, several people in that church listening to him recount this incident got quite the kick out of his awful insults and cutting remarks to this woman. However, the pastor would soon come to regret his hurtful, sharp words. The young woman was a student at a Bible college where he would frequently preach, and despite her limited funds, she donated to his mission every month.

But that was not the end of it. The pastor would learn more about this young woman’s background, which made his comments even more horrible and painful.

Words are powerful, and what we say matters a great deal. With the words we say, we can build someone up or, just as easily, tear someone down.

Ephesians 4:29 “Let no evil talk come out of your mouth, but only what is good for giving necessary teaching, and for grace to those who give ear.”

Vicki Lawrence Explains How a Letter Led to Role on The Carol Burnett Show

Vicki Lawrence explained how a letter led to her role on The Carol Burnett Show. The legendary comedian’s life and career changed completely after she wrote and dropped a letter in the mail. Watch the short clip to hear the unbelievable story of how she landed the role on the iconic television show.

Anyone who says they have their future entirely planned out and does so with a straight face is incredibly naïve and only fooling themselves. Life is a series of unexpected events, full of twists, turns, roadblocks and detours. Your life will likely go in directions that you could have never predicted, both good and bad.

The fact is that none of us can predict the future. We cannot see what will happen in five minutes, let alone five months or five years down the road. Knowing what will happen in the future is God’s department, not ours. All any of us can do is do the best we can with our present circumstances and with what we have in this very moment.

In a clip posted on YouTube, Vicki discussed the surprising series of events that led to her getting a spot on The Carol Burnett Show. It all started with her, as a high school senior, writing a letter to Carol Burnett, informing her of an upcoming performance. If someone other than her told this story, you would have a hard time believing them.

Surprisingly, soon after sending the letter, Vicki received a phone call from none other than Carol Burnett. She could not believe her ears as she listened to that recognizable and unmistakable voice on the other end. Carol told Vicki that she would attend her upcoming performance but requested seats in the back because she did not want to draw attention to herself.

Vicki was eventually cast on the show because she looked so much like Carol. Of course, as we all know she played Carol’s little sister and a handful of other characters in an endless number of iconic, hysterical skits.

Young Man Beats Cancer and Celebrates by Pulling Off This Move

A young man beat cancer and celebrated by pulling off this move. It’s likely that no one expected the little guy to do this surprising maneuver as he recognized the end of his cancer treatments. Watch the short but hilarious yet heartwarming clip to see how the little guy commemorated this special occasion.

We live in a lost and fallen world. Sin, ever since that act of disobedience in the Garden of Eden, has done a number on this place. Marriages and families have been destroyed, careers have been ruined and lives have been turned upside down by sin. Everything has been made infinitely and incalculably worse by sin.

Sadly, sin’s presence has also damaged and destroyed our bodies through sickness and disease. Far too many families are familiar with the sadness and devastation brought upon by cancer or some other horrible disease or life-threatening condition.

Even worse, the youngest and most vulnerable members of society, children, are not safe from these deadly diseases and conditions. However, as a clip posted on YouTube shows, there can still be joy and happiness during a cancer battle, especially when the young patient comes out on top and defeats cancer.

It was all joy and happiness as the young man made his way down the hallway after completing chemotherapy. He strutted along, showing off his fancy dance moves as others cheered, beyond happy that this little guy had faced down cancer and won.

Eventually, he started to pick up the pace, and then that’s when he made his surprise move. He actually did a cartwheel, which was appreciated and loved by everyone who was lining both sides of the hallway.

But where was the little guy going during his walk down the hallway? Where was he headed? He proudly and loudly rang the bell, which the video points out, signifies that he is free of cancer!

Romans 15:13 “Now may the God of hope make you full of joy and peace through faith, so that all hope may be yours in the power of the Holy Spirit.”

Bryce Crawford: Gen Z Is Hungry for Jesus — and Rejecting ‘Fake Stuff’

Bryce Crawford explains why Gen Z is turning to Jesus and walking away from what he calls “fake stuff.” He shares how cultural pressures, mental health struggles and constant noise from social media are pushing young people to search for real truth. Crawford also opens up about his own life-changing encounter with Jesus and how it fuels his bold faith today. Along the way, he makes the case that what we’re seeing isn’t hype — it’s the early signs of revival.

"I Hid in a Closet. God Found Me There" with Willow Weston

How do you begin to heal when the people closest to you are the ones who wounded you the most?

This week, author, speaker, and Collide ministry founder Willow Weston joins Jaime for a raw and powerful conversation about running toward pain instead of away from it, based on her new book, Collide: Running Into Healing When Life Hands You Hurt.

In this episode, Willow shares her deeply personal story of growing up in a home marked by addiction and abandonment, and how a moment of hiding in a closet from her own mother became the catalyst for a healing journey she never expected.

Willow also unpacks the beautiful tension between letting God heal us and actively participating in our own healing — reminding us that wholeness requires both surrender and a willingness to move. She offers a refreshing challenge to the "sweep it under the rug" approach to pain, pointing to a Jesus who never once avoided someone's mess but made a beeline straight for it.

You'll walk away with a deeper understanding of how unresolved wounds quietly travel through our relationships, and why giving yourself permission to name your pain — and invite God into it — is the bravest step toward becoming more whole than broken.

Unexpected Kindness from Young Oklahoma City Thunder Fan Will Warm Your Heart

An unexpected act of kindness from a young Oklahoma City Thunder fan will warm your heart. The little guy surprised his fellow Thunder fan by doing something no one saw coming. Watch the short but heartwarming clip to see what one basketball fan did for another.

Kindness is sorely lacking in society today. It seems that most people are out for themselves and couldn’t care less about others' needs and concerns. As long as I get what I want, well, that’s all that really matters; that’s the kind of thinking and mindset most people exhibit.

That selfish, self-centered thinking can be spotted everywhere we look and go. Take a gander at any popular social media platforms, watch a few minutes of a national television broadcast or listen to anyone running for or currently in elected office, and you’ll see several examples of it in no time. For the most part, people do not concern themselves with others' welfare and well-being. So, whenever we do see examples that go against the norm, especially when they come from some of the youngest members of society, we tend to sit up and take notice.

In a clip posted on social media, two young Oklahoma City Thunder fans are desperately hoping to snag a t-shirt thrown into the crowd.

At one point, one of the two young men had caught a t-shirt, but unfortunately, the other kid was not as lucky. He stood there, empty-handed and upset, realizing his efforts had been in vain. It was clear that he was not going to get a shirt.

However, then something happened that caught everyone, especially the other little basketball fan, by surprise. The child with the shirt, unprompted, tapped the other young man on the arm and gave him his shirt.

There aren’t many people, let alone children, who would have done that. Sure, it was a small act of kindness, but we can never be sure when something we view as small will mean the world to someone else.

Ephesians 4:32 “And be kind to one another, full of pity, having forgiveness for one another, even as God in Christ had forgiveness for you.”

Live Like You’re Changed | A Prayer to Live as a Resurrection Person | Your Daily Prayer

If Jesus truly changed your life… does your life reflect it?

This powerful daily prayer is a call to live differently—to walk in the freedom, grace, and transformation that comes through Jesus.

Romans 6:4 reminds us:

“We were therefore buried with Him… in order that… we too may live a new life.”

You are not who you used to be.

But living like a “resurrection person” isn’t always easy.

We still struggle.

We still fall.

We still get pulled back into old habits.

Yet God calls us higher.

This prayer will help you:

Examine your life with honesty and humility

Let go of sin patterns and spiritual complacency

Reflect Christ in your actions, words, and attitude

Live in a way that draws others toward Jesus

Your life is your message.

And when you live like you’ve been changed—people notice.

Today, choose to live like resurrection is real.
