Can Revival Really Happen Again? Why Prayer and God’s Word Still Matter- August 17, 2026

Monday, August 17, 2026

Can revival really happen again—and if so, what is keeping the Church from experiencing it?

Pastor, author and apologist Joe Manning joins Steve to discuss why revival always begins with prayer, repentance and a renewed commitment to God’s Word. They examine how culture can influence the Church, why some Christians distort Scripture to support personal desires, and how believers can confidently defend the truth of the Bible.

Steve also encourages Christians who feel intimidated by Bible study to stop believing that Scripture is too difficult to understand. You don’t need a special degree to know God through His Word—you simply need the willingness to open the Bible, ask God for understanding and begin.

Also in this episode:

  • What Paul meant by becoming “all things to all people”
  • Why Christians should meet people where they are
  • The connection between idolatry and sexual immorality
  • Why we shouldn’t give up when prayers seem unanswered
  • How revival begins with personal repentance
  • The importance of pastors rightly dividing God’s Word
  • Encouraging news about the release of missionary Kevin Rideout
  • How churches can help parents protect children from pornography
  • This week’s “Faith Between Our Ears” verse: 1 Corinthians 2:9
  • A ceiling-fan dad joke that may take a second to land

When It Rains, It Pours: Trusting God When Life Piles Up - August 14, 2026

Friday, August 14, 2026

What do you do when it feels like everything goes wrong at once?

Steve kicks off this Fun Friday with a very real story from home: just when one expensive car repair was finally behind him, another car problem showed up. It’s the kind of moment that makes you wonder, “God, why is this happening?” But the struggles of everyday life remind us of something important: God never promised an easy life, but He did promise that we wouldn’t face it alone. When circumstances and emotions change, God and His Word remain the anchor.

Then Adam Holtz from Plugged In, a ministry of Focus on the Family, joins Steve for the weekly Fun Friday look at movies, streaming and entertainment. They discuss new releases, family-friendly options, anime, and why parents need to pay attention to what their kids are watching—even when something looks harmless on the surface. They also talk about The Chosen in the Wild with Bear Grylls and how Plugged In can help families make informed entertainment decisions.

Plus, Steve takes a trip through the Babylon Bee and its hilarious ideas for getting men to attend Bible study, talks about The Chosen helping Tyler Hubbard's family have conversations about Jesus, shares the Dad Joke of the Day, and wraps up the week's Faith Between Your Ears verse: Hebrews 11:6.

And today's Your Next Step: practice greater discernment with your entertainment choices. What we watch, hear and consume matters—and if we want our kids to make wise choices, we need to model those choices ourselves.

Deep Water Faith: How to Pursue the Plans God Puts on Your Heart - August 13, 2026

Thursday, August 13, 2026

What do you do when you believe God has put something on your heart—but accomplishing it feels overwhelming?

Steve opens today’s show with a challenging word from Proverbs 20:5: “The purpose in a man’s heart is like deep water, but a man of understanding will draw it out.” Dreams, goals, callings, and plans aren’t always easy to pursue. Sometimes they require prayer, perseverance, wise counsel, hard work, and the willingness to keep going when you encounter roadblocks.

Then Steve introduces a brand-new feature: Bible or Hallmark? Can you tell the difference between a genuine Bible verse and something that just sounds biblical? Test your Bible knowledge—and resist the temptation to Google the answers!

Steve’s son Tyler, creator of the 1189 YouTube channel, also joins the show. 1189 is an ambitious project to create a free video commentary for every one of the Bible’s 1,189 chapters. Tyler discusses Acts 21, Paul’s return to Jerusalem, the warnings he received about what awaited him, and Paul’s determination to follow God’s calling even when it could cost him his freedom—or his life. They also preview Acts 22 and Paul’s powerful testimony before the crowd.

Plus, Steve talks about the importance of discernment when listening to Christian teachers, shares the Dad Joke of the Day, continues this week’s Faith Between Your Ears with Hebrews 11:6, and closes with Your Next Step: don’t assume “deep water” means you’re headed in the wrong direction. Sometimes following where God leads requires diving deeper.

Can Revival Really Happen Again? Finding Faith in the Middle of the Storm - August 12, 2026

Wednesday, August 12, 2026

Can revival really happen in America again? And what does faith look like when life gives you every reason to question God?

On this episode of The Steve Marston Show, Steve looks at encouraging signs of spiritual hunger among young adults and college students across the country. In a culture that can make revival seem impossible, there are signs that a generation is searching for something deeper, authentic, and lasting—and finding that answer in Jesus.

Then, Steve sits down with Pastor Michael Loudermilk for an extraordinarily personal conversation about his 7-year-old daughter, Abigail, who is battling an aggressive brain tumor. Michael shares what it means to trust God's sovereignty while simultaneously experiencing grief, confusion, anger, and lament. Rather than offering easy answers, he talks about discovering the language of the Psalms and learning that genuine faith can include crying out to God when you don't understand what He's doing.
Michael also shares encouraging news from Abigail's first post-radiation scan and how his family's battle has deepened the faith and relationships within their church community.

Plus, Steve explores Jonah and the revival of Nineveh in Seek & Find, talks about Drew Brees publicly sharing his Christian faith, looks at the spiritual hunger being expressed by a younger generation, delivers the Dad Joke of the Day, and continues this week's Faith Between Our Ears memory verse—Hebrews 11:6.
And today's Your Next Step is simple but important: pray for revival—and don't give up.

Spiritual Warfare Is Real: Surrender, Purpose & Living an Authentic Faith- August 11, 2026

Tuesday, August 11, 2026

Spiritual Warfare Is Real: Surrender, Purpose & Living an Authentic Faith

What does spiritual warfare actually look like in everyday life—and how do you fight back when worry, fear, and pressure begin stealing your peace?

On this episode of The Steve Marston Show, Steve gets personal about a middle-of-the-night battle with racing thoughts, stress, and anxiety—and the simple biblical truth that helped him regain his peace: “Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” Sometimes spiritual warfare doesn't look dramatic. Sometimes it looks like the thoughts that keep pulling your attention away from God.

Steve also tackles one of Christianity's most repeated myths in That's Not in the Bible: “God helps those who help themselves.” While Scripture certainly doesn't teach laziness, our relationship with God isn't based on our ability to work hard enough, behave well enough, or somehow earn His favor. Grace means learning to stop pushing the boulder uphill and rest in what Christ has already done.

Then Steve welcomes Christine Faith, founder of Searcy Living Magazine and the Imagine and Believe Foundation, for a conversation about surrender, calling, foster care, adoption, and recognizing the opportunities God places directly in front of us.

Christine shares how launching a magazine with no publishing experience eventually led her into foster care and then into a ministry serving foster and adoptive families. She also describes a defining moment when she finally told God that her business—and its success or failure—belonged completely to Him.

Her message is a powerful reminder: You don't need a platform to have a ministry. God has given you gifts, opportunities, and people you can impact right where you are.

Later, Taryn Phillips, pastor of The Refuge Church in San Antonio, joins Steve for a wide-ranging conversation about antisemitism, the church's relationship with the Jewish people, spiritual warfare, and what he calls “hospital church”—creating a place where Christians can honestly confess their struggles instead of pretending they have everything together.

Plus:

Dad Joke of the Day: Why did Noah never have trouble finding parking?
• A powerful perspective on faith and healing from a young woman entering hospice care
• Hebrews 11:6 in Faith Between Your Ears
• Why genuine Christian community has to make room for confession, restoration, and messy lives
• Why God's opinion of you ultimately matters more than everyone else's

Don’t Quit: How God Uses Ordinary People Who Stay in the Fight- August 10, 2026

Monday, August 10, 2026

What happens when you lose momentum, fall back into old habits, or simply feel like you’ve blown it?

On this episode of The Steve Marston Show, Steve gets vulnerable about losing momentum in his own life—and the lesson God reminded him of: failure doesn’t mean the fight is over. God offers forgiveness, restoration, and another opportunity to get back up and keep moving.

Then, Steve Teal of Very Bold Ministries joins the show to share the incredible story behind the Peanut Butter Bowl. What began with two Texas high schools in 2016 has grown to involve roughly 120 schools, using the excitement of high school football to collect peanut butter and help feed children and families facing food insecurity. Steve also discusses spiritual warfare, the reality of the unseen battle described in Scripture, and why Christians need to understand what the Bible actually teaches about standing against the enemy.

Next, Casey Longing, youth pastor at Union Valley Baptist Church in Beebe, Arkansas, shares how God has opened doors for him inside public schools. Through biblical character lessons and student-led opportunities, Casey has watched participation grow from a simple table at a school club event to hundreds of students hearing what Scripture says about kindness, forgiveness, character, and hope.

Plus, we hear your Sunday Morning Takeaways, talk about the upcoming re-release of Amazing Grace and the legacy of William Wilberforce, discuss Mike Posner publicly sharing his Christian faith, consider Alisa Childers’ warnings about “deliverance influencers,” and learn this week’s Faith Between Our Ears memory verse: Hebrews 11:6.

The thread running through all of it is simple: God doesn’t need you to have everything figured out. He wants you to be available.

Bring Him what you have. Stay in the fight. Take the next step. And trust God with what happens next.

The Steve Marston Show is a daily journey in learning how to live more like Jesus through biblical truth, real conversations, encouragement—and, of course, a dad joke or two.

Friday, August 7, 2026

Is God Just a Myth? Responding to an Atheist's Challenge with Truth and Grace - August 6, 2026

Friday, August 7, 2026

Can God really use hardship to get our attention? And if He does, how should Christians respond when someone says it's all just fiction?

On today's episode of The Steve Marston Show, Steve responds to a heartfelt YouTube comment from someone who survived a devastating car accident but credits human engineering—not God—for their survival. With compassion and biblical truth, Steve explores how God reveals Himself through creation, Scripture, and ultimately through Jesus Christ. Is God really silent, or are we missing the evidence that's all around us?

Later in the show, Steve answers listener emails on everything from the Dallas Cowboys' chances this season to whether AI could ever take over the world. Plus, a look at John Piper's warning against "doom scrolling," troubling news involving Perez Hilton, and why Benny Hinn's recent comments about crying babies in church sparked concern.

As always, there's a dad joke, encouragement from God's Word, and a reminder that joy isn't based on circumstances—it's a command for every believer.

It's a moving reminder that God never abandons His children and can redeem even life's greatest tragedies.

Steve also launches another edition of "That's Not in the Bible," tackling the common myth that Jesus never talked about hell. Later, Steve revisits an inspiring interview with retired Lieutenant Colonel Phil Cochran, an F-16 fighter pilot, pastor, and author of Lessons Learned at the Speed of Sound. Phil shares how the discipline required in military aviation parallels the Christian life, emphasizing spiritual preparation, Scripture memorization, daily self-examination, and trusting God's Word when life's emergencies strike.

Passing Faith to the Next Generation, Standing Firm in Christ, and Finding Joy Every Day- August 3, 2026

Monday, August 3, 2026

How do we make sure our faith doesn't stop with us? On today's episode of The Steve Marston Show, Steve shares his Sunday Morning Takeaway from the book of Joshua, exploring the sobering reality that biblical truth is only one generation away from being forgotten if we fail to pass it on. It's a heartfelt reminder that our children and grandchildren need to see an authentic faith lived out every day—not just hear about it on Sundays.

Listeners also join the conversation by sharing the biggest lessons they learned in church, including insights from Acts, the Beatitudes, the Holy Spirit, and the importance of resisting temptation by first turning to God.

In the Little Rock edition of the show, Steve welcomes Pastor Kyler Smith of Emmanuel Baptist Church to discuss God's calling on his life, the future of Emmanuel, the importance of faithful Bible preaching, discipleship, church history, and why the mission of the church is to make the name of Jesus known—not our own.

Steve also highlights an inspiring response from In-N-Out Burger owner Lynsi Snyder following a tragic shooting, pointing listeners to her public call to seek God's comfort instead of responding in anger. Later, he examines a discussion from Pastor Josh Howerton's podcast on eternal security, reminding believers that salvation rests in God's grip—not ours.

The episode wraps up with this week's Faith Between Your Ears memory verse:

"Always be joyful." — 1 Thessalonians 5:16

Jesus Isn’t Self-Improvement: Becoming a New Creation in Christ - July 28, 2026

Tuesday, July 28, 2026

Following Jesus isn’t about adding a little Christianity to your existing life so you can become a slightly better version of yourself. Jesus calls us to something far more radical: becoming a new creation.

On this episode of The Steve Marston Show, Steve explores the difference between biblical salvation and simple self-improvement. Prompted by a recent conversation involving sports personality Pat McAfee and a street preacher, Steve asks an important question: Are we looking to Jesus merely to make our lives better, or are we willing to surrender our old lives completely and follow Him?

Steve also takes a look at the new trailer for Season 6 of The Chosen as the series moves into the Passion Week and the crucifixion of Jesus. He discusses the creative liberties taken by the series, why Christians may have different convictions about watching it, and how The Chosen has helped viewers consider the relationships between Jesus and His disciples from perspectives they may never have considered before.

Later, Steve tackles several stories from the Christian world, including questions about the “Christian industry,” accountability following the Michael Tait controversy, Chuck Swindoll’s thoughts about the final sermon he would want to preach, and Jen Hatmaker’s rejection of a literal hell.

Plus, Steve continues Faith Between Our Ears with Proverbs 9:10—“Fear of the Lord is the foundation of wisdom”—and examines the fascinating meaning of the Hebrew word “ezer” in Genesis 2:18 and what it tells us about the biblical role and value of women.

Where Is Your Identity? Finding Your Worth in Christ, Christian Comedy & Faith in the Spotlight- July 17, 2026

Friday, July 17, 2026

What happens when the career you've built your identity around suddenly disappears? On this Fun Friday edition of The Steve Marston Show, Steve opens up about one of the hardest seasons of his life and explains why every believer must ultimately find their identity in Jesus—not in a job, title, or accomplishment. Inspired by Christian artist Leanna Crawford's testimony, this honest conversation challenges us to ask: Who am I when everything else is stripped away?

Plus, Steve welcomes Adam Holtz from Plugged In to break down the latest in entertainment, including Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, Disney's live-action Moana, classic films making a comeback, and why parents should take advantage of Plugged In's parental control tutorials.

You'll also enjoy another hilarious edition of the Babylon Bee in Review, featuring a tongue-in-cheek look at AI data centers, along with Christian comedian Nick Peterson's clever "Three Minutes with Jonah" sketch.

The episode also highlights inspiring stories of believers standing boldly for their faith, including former Saturday Night Live cast member Victoria Jackson sharing the gospel behind the scenes and MLB All-Star Paul Skenes explaining the Bible verse written on his baseball glove.

As always, Steve wraps up with a memorable dad joke, an encouraging Scripture from Ephesians 3, a heartwarming "Best Video on the Internet," and a reminder that our greatest identity is found as children of God.

The Truth About Hell, the Gift of Today, and Why Every Chapter Matters - July 16, 2026

Thursday, July 16, 2026

Should churches preach about hell more often? In this thought-provoking episode of The Steve Marston Show, Steve tackles a listener's question about why many churches avoid one of the Bible's most sobering topics. He explains why understanding the reality of sin and eternal separation from God makes the Gospel's message of grace through Jesus Christ even more powerful.

Steve also shares a deeply personal story about the sudden passing of a longtime friend—a reminder that life is fragile and tomorrow is never guaranteed. It's an encouraging challenge to tell the people you love how much they mean to you while you still have the opportunity.

Later, Steve welcomes his son, Tyler, creator of the 1189 YouTube channel, for an in-depth conversation about studying Scripture chapter by chapter. Tyler explains the vision behind creating a free Bible commentary covering all 1,189 chapters of the Bible, why the Torah is essential for understanding Jesus, what makes John's Gospel unique, and why every believer can confidently study God's Word.

Habakkuk, Heaven, and the Hope That Holds: Trusting God When You Don't Have All the Answers - July 15, 2026

Thursday, July 16, 2026

What do daylight saving time, Habakkuk's unanswered questions, cigars and cocktails, the nature of hell, and healing from spiritual abuse all have in common? More than you might think.

On this episode of The Steve Marston Show, Steve opens with a lighthearted campaign to finally end the twice-a-year clock change before diving into much deeper conversations about faith, culture, and biblical truth.

Steve explores whether Christians should participate in drinking and smoking, sharing why he chooses a higher standard for the sake of his witness. During this week's Seek & Find Bible study, he unpacks the powerful message of the prophet Habakkuk—a man who boldly questioned God during seasons of suffering and discovered that trusting God's character is greater than having every answer.

Later, Steve welcomes Steve Gregg of The Narrow Path for an engaging discussion about the three historic Christian views of hell. Rather than avoiding difficult theological questions, they examine Scripture with humility while encouraging believers to study God's Word for themselves.

The episode also highlights encouraging news from Christian media, shares the powerful testimony of Franni Cash's journey out of spiritual abuse and into God's healing grace, and closes with a moving reflection from Dr. Peter Kreeft on the enduring beauty of covenant marriage.

Whether you're wrestling with unanswered prayers, theological questions, or simply looking for biblical encouragement, this episode reminds us that God is faithful—even when we don't fully understand His plan.

Can You Defend Your Faith? Responding to Today's Toughest Biblical Challenges - July 14, 2026

Tuesday, July 14, 2026

Can Christians confidently defend what the Bible teaches when challenged by today's culture? On this episode of The Steve Marston Show, Steve breaks down a viral debate featuring Ali Beth Stuckey and examines one of the most common claims made about Scripture—that the Bible doesn't actually condemn homosexuality. With insights from renowned Christian apologist Wes Huff, Steve explores the original Greek and Hebrew, explains why these arguments have become so popular, and equips believers to respond with both truth and grace.

Later, Lieutenant Colonel Phil Cochran joins the program to discuss his powerful devotional, Lessons Learned at the Speed of Sound. Drawing from his experience flying F-16 Fighting Falcons and serving as a pastor, Phil shares how military discipline, mission preparation, and post-flight debriefs provide practical lessons for growing in our walk with Christ. The conversation covers Scripture memorization, spiritual discipline, evaluating your daily walk with God, and why Christians should approach their faith with intentionality.

Steve also celebrates encouraging news from Megan Basham, discusses the upcoming third season of House of David, previews tomorrow's conversation with Bible teacher Steve Gregg about differing biblical views of hell, and challenges listeners to memorize Ephesians 3:20–21 as part of this week's "Faith Between Our Ears."

This episode is packed with biblical apologetics, practical discipleship, encouraging news, and plenty of the faith-and-fun you've come to expect from The Steve Marston Show.

When Life Knocks You Down: Trusting God Through the Unexpected - July 13, 2026

Tuesday, July 14, 2026

Steve is back in the studio after a week away—and with a new grandbaby, he shares why his family's "happy place" has changed forever. He kicks off the week with Sunday Morning Takeaways, highlighting powerful lessons from listeners on prayer, the breath of God, David's cave, and more.

The centerpiece of the episode tackles one of the Bible's toughest passages: God's command to Joshua to completely destroy the Canaanite nations. Steve explores why Scripture must interpret Scripture, examining God's patience, justice, and the importance of obedience even when His commands are difficult to understand.

Later, Steve draws an unexpected spiritual lesson from UFC star Conor McGregor's devastating comeback loss. When life falls apart despite careful preparation, how should Christians respond? Steve challenges listeners to consider whether their reaction to adversity reveals the strength of their relationship with Christ. Through McGregor's post-fight declaration of faith and the Nicene Creed, Steve reminds believers that God's glory is often seen most clearly in the aftermath of life's greatest disappointments.

The episode also features updates on Greg Laurie, Tim Tebow's new media venture, Skillet's latest music, a Scripture memory challenge from Ephesians 3:20-21, and an inspiring "Best Video on the Internet" that illustrates the importance of perseverance.
