If you've been carrying guilt, regret, shame, or worry for far too long, this conversation offers encouragement for taking the first steps toward letting go.

A Prayer to Trust God with What Comes Next

What do you do when every door seems to be closing?

In today's Your Daily Prayer, Rachel Wojo shares the story of a friend facing an unexpected job loss while caring for her injured mother.

Sometimes we know a difficult change is coming, but that doesn't make it any easier when it finally happens. We can pray, make plans, consider every option, and still find ourselves uncertain about the future.

Through Proverbs 3:5–6, Rachel reminds us that trusting God doesn't require knowing every step ahead. It means learning to rely on His wisdom instead of depending entirely on our own understanding.

If you're facing a closed door, a career setback, or a season of uncertainty, join us in praying for peace, strength, and the courage to trust God with what comes next.

Today's Scripture: Proverbs 3:5–6 (NIV)

Let Your Light Shine for God | A Reformation Day Prayer

What does it look like to let your faith shine in a world that feels dark?

Jesus tells us in Matthew 5:16 to let our light shine before others so that they may see our good deeds and glorify our Father in heaven.

In today's Your Daily Prayer, Lynette Kittle reflects on the childhood song “This Little Light of Mine,” the courage of Martin Luther during the Protestant Reformation, and the call for every Christian to live as a light in the world.

As we remember Reformation Day on October 31, we're reminded of the importance of Scripture, salvation through faith in Jesus Christ, and the courage to live out what we believe.

You don't need a platform or a spotlight to make a difference. Through everyday acts of love, kindness, faithfulness, and truth, your life can point others toward Jesus.

Join us in praying for boldness, humility, and a faith that glorifies God.

Today's Scripture:

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” — Matthew 5:16 (NIV)

In today's devotional:

  • What it means to let your light shine for God
  • Why Christians commemorate Reformation Day
  • Martin Luther and the importance of faith in Christ
  • The meaning of Romans 1:17
  • Living as children of light according to Ephesians 5:8
  • A prayer for courage to share your faith

In this episode, Dr. Michelle Bengtson explains how fear affects your brain, why anxious thought patterns can be difficult to break, and how neuroscience and biblical truth can help you move toward greater peace.

Learn how renewing your mind, replacing fearful thoughts with God's truth, and practicing faith can help you break free from fear-based thinking and move forward with greater courage, confidence, and hope.

A Prayer for Good Purpose in the Place God Has You

What if you're not where you thought you'd be by now?

What if you're not where you thought you'd be by now?

Maybe you're facing a health setback, a disappointing change of plans, or a season of life that looks nothing like you imagined.

In today's Your Daily Prayer, Keri Eichberger shares how recovering from scoliosis surgery changed her expectations for her son's wedding—and how Joseph's story in Genesis helped her remember that God can work through circumstances we never would have chosen.

In Genesis 50:19–20, Joseph responds to the brothers who harmed him with an extraordinary recognition of God's providence: what they intended for evil, God used to preserve many lives.

Joseph's story doesn't mean every hardship will make sense to us or end the way we hope. But it does remind us that suffering doesn't place us beyond God's care.

If you're feeling stuck, discouraged, or disappointed with where life has taken you, join us in praying for the strength to trust God's faithfulness in the season you're facing.

Today's Scripture:

“But Joseph said to them, ‘Don't be afraid. Am I in the place of God? You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.’” — Genesis 50:19–20 (NIV)

In today's devotional:

  • Trusting God when life doesn't go as planned
  • Finding purpose in difficult seasons
  • What Joseph's story teaches about God's providence
  • Dealing with disappointment and unexpected setbacks
  • Remembering God's care when you feel stuck
  • A prayer for trust, patience, and renewed hope

How to Truly Find Life (Galatians 2:20)

Toy Man' Dedicates Life To Bringing Joy To Thousands

Jeffrey Olsen, better known as the “Toy Man," dedicates his life to bringing joy to thousands of children across California. He is not married and doesn’t have any children, but uses all of his extra time to help children who could use a little extra love. Watch the video to see his remarkable story.

He has helped over 59,960 people through his charity, and most of it has come out of his own pocket. He lives to help people, and that includes his 92-year-old mother, Olga, whom he cares for full-time.

The “Toy Man,” who is 60, has spent the last 36 years giving out toys to children who could use some cheer. He even has a whole shed dedicated to his charity, full of toys and clothes and things that children like.

Jeffrey worked as a salesman at JCPenney. He invested money in the stock market, which has helped him fund his charitable efforts. What’s even more remarkable is that as a child, doctors misdiagnosed him with epilepsy, and he was one of many children at the same hospital to receive a misdiagnosis. As a result, for the first 33 years of his life, he took medication that caused him to be slightly developmentally delayed.

How Personal Hardships Inspired the 'Toy Man' to Give Back

Despite this setback, he’s overcome so much by being successful and dedicating his life to helping others.

“That’s also what makes me want to help the people, because of having to go through that in life. When I do this work, I feel like I have the spirits of these kids with me when I go because I have this feeling that’s pushed me to want to do it,” Jeffrey said.

The San Diego area of California is lucky to have a person like Jeffrey living there. He lives a modest life and chooses to spend his money and time helping others. He is a rare kind indeed, and so many children and families are so thankful for him.

Danny Gokey Inspires with Heartfelt Thoughts on Prayer

Danny Gokey inspires with heartfelt thoughts on prayer. His encouragement is always great to hear. Play the video below to be encouraged.

“It’s so easy to lose heart when you see all the chaos and tragedy in our world! But on this National Day of Prayer, I want to encourage you to hold onto hope! God wants us to persistently bring our requests before Him and invite Him into these situations. Don’t lose faith …Our prayers matter!” Danny said.

He explained that after tragic events, he doesn’t want people to lose hope. Prayer still “works” even though bad things still happen.

“I want to encourage you as the body of Christ. First of all, never let unbelievers tell you who God is, just like you wouldn’t let someone online who’s never met your parents tell you who your parents are, because they don’t know them and have a relationship with them," he explained. “I want to get into Luke 18, where Jesus said something about the power of prayer.”

Danny Gokey Reminds Believers to Keep Praying Through Difficult Times

Jesus said it’s important to always pray and not lose faith and heart. God is a just God, and he avenges those who ask for his help.

“Some time ago, I wrote this down. It says, ‘Sometimes trouble can be so great that it causes people to lose faith.’ There is great tragedy in sad things happening in our world. Don’t let it cause you to lose faith and cause you not to pray,” he said.

When we pray, we allow God to work for us. We are not alone. So when bad things happen, we should never give up and lose hope.

“Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.” James 5:16

Emily is 22 years old and from Florida. She received a degree in psychology from Southern New Hampshire University. Emily is shown in the process of her education in a dorm room, texting on a phone in front of a laptop, using her feet. She shares in an interview that she was born with a genetic disorder that caused her arms not to grow in the womb and for her to have a small stomach.

Emily Rowy's Determination Proves That Nothing Can Limit Her Dreams

Emily tells about the benefit that she found from the “talk to text” feature on her laptop to help her with homework and papers. She says that her mother was told that she would not live very long with her conditions, but she is proving many people wrong. She used her voice online on social media to show how she lives with these differences each day to inspire others. She loves to use her voice to speak up as a woman with disabilities. Community's Overwhelming Love Helps Family After Devastating Fire

One Iowa community's overwhelming love helps a family after a devastating fire destroys their new home. They had saved for a while to get a modest home in the countryside, and to see it go up in flames just 4 months after they bought it was heart-wrenching. But there is an upside to this story. Watch the video to hear about it!

Both Jennifer and Dean are school educators in Iowa and are parents to a pre-teen named Faith.

Dean recalled, “I had just gotten done, uh, loading up the lumber from the lumber store and was heading to the school, uh, to work with our robotics team, and Faith calls and says, ‘Hey Dad, I'm in the car; you know the house is on fire. The dogs are here. Mom's on the other line with the firemen.’”

There was a tremendous amount of snow in Iowa at the time, and there were cars stopped on the road. But Dean made his way home to them, and from there, they didn’t know what they would do. But they didn’t have to worry, because the community had their backs.

A Community Comes Together to Help a Family Rebuild After Tragedy

The maid of honor from their wedding told them they were going to stay at her father’s home while he spent the winter in Florida, and their schools and church piled them with support and gifts. A GoFundMe that a colleague created raised over $40,000 for a new home for them, and when Kelly Clarkson heard about it, she helped give them $25,000 through KiddeFireSafety.

Now, they are trying to rebuild the home on their property, with the help of Dean’s students, who are helping out with the design.

The family is so blown away by all the support they’ve gotten. It just shows how when you’re a valuable member of a community, people remember you and how you’ve helped them. That makes them want to help you back. A little love goes a long way.

Little Girl Gets Life-Saving Heart Transplant After Years Of Waiting

One family’s grief makes way for giving and gratitude in the life of another family, and it is so impactful. Thanks to God and a family’s gracious donations, a little girl gets a life-saving heart transplant after years of waiting. Play the video to hear the incredible story.

"We waited for this heart for 1,025 days,” said the mom of 4-year-old Arctura Nowak, a little girl who was born with a dangerously large heart.

After she had the transplant, her mom said she felt like she could breathe for the first time in over 3 years, when they first learned she would need a transplant.

“It was like a birth,” the mom said. “It was amazing.”

Arctura’s right atrium valve in her heart was the size of the rest of her heart. Her heart spanned from one side of her rib cage to the other, so all of her other organs’ functions were compromised. Doctors had to watch her liver, kidneys, and lungs especially.

After waiting most of her life for a new heart, Arctura’s mother is so grateful that her daughter can now be a normal little girl and do things she hasn’t gotten to do yet.

A Mother's Gratitude Turns a Life-Saving Gift Into a Promise of Hope

Her mom said, “I've had so many people say that ‘Oh, there it is, such mixed emotions. It's so hard. You must feel so much grief for the family who lost their child,’ and while I can see where they're coming from, the word is not grief; it is gratitude, and my responsibility is not to grieve with them but to do exactly as they had hoped, which is to live and fulfill that privilege that I have to raise her and let her experience every joy that can be felt.”

She doesn’t aim to take her daughter to Disney World or National Parks; she wants her to have the privilege to do simple things like let her feel the grass and watch the clouds.

Arctura’s parents have never taken a moment with her for granted. And now that she has a normal-sized heart, each beat it makes holds so much joy.

Drew Barrymore Engages In Tear-Filled Conversation With Audience Member

Drew Barrymore engages in a tear-filled conversation with an audience member at her show, and you have got to see the sweet encounter. The movie star didn’t hesitate for a second to check on the guest, whom she noticed tearing up in the audience. Watch the clip to see it.

“Are you okay?” Drew asked the woman, who apologized for crying.

Drew immediately ran over to the woman, knelt down, and placed a hand on her knee, asking her to tell her what’s wrong.

“I’m actually a therapist,” the woman told Drew. “You have been my role model since I was in middle school, and you have inspired me to become who I am today. Thank you.”

At this, Drew started crying. She said, “It’s so nice to meet you. There are so many times in my life that I would never have thought I would have been a role model for anyone. I was a cautionary tale. So thank you so much.”

Drew asked her why she chose to help others by being a therapist. The woman said she lost her father at the age of 22, and it made her want to help others to grow and be the best they can be.

“That is so good of you,” Drew said. “It is. Because you could have taken that pain and gone in many different directions.”

Drew Barrymore's Compassion Turns an Emotional Moment Into an Unforgettable Connection

What made the moment even sweeter was when the woman turned around to gesture to the woman behind her, who turned out to be her mom. Learning that, Drew immediately went over to the woman’s mother and hugged her.

Drew is so sweet and compassionate. She didn’t care about what was going on. She just stopped everything and ran to the woman she saw crying. It’s wonderful to see another person’s heart for others so clearly.

Grandpa, Dad and Baby Boy Share Name and Birthdate in Rare Family Bond

A grandpa, dad, and baby boy share the same name and birthdate in a rare family bond. It is so special. Watch the video to see how three generations became united through their shared names and birthdays.

The newest addition to the family, Daniel Nelson Lesinski III, was born on March 26th, which happens to be the same birthday as his father, Daniel Nelson Lesinski Jr., and grandfather, Daniel Nelson Lesinski Sr.

“You know, to have a son born on my birthday alone is something that would be very special for any father out there, but to be able to share that with both my daddy and my son obviously is special,” Daniel Jr. said. "I don't know that I'll ever have a better birthday. The fact that this all happened on the 26th makes it even more of a special moment.”

Baby's Surprise Arrival Makes a Family Tradition Even More Special

Baby Daniel was due the first week of April but was measuring large. The doctors advised doing a planned C-section on March 27th, but baby Daniel decided to make a surprise entrance on the 26th.

Daniel Sr. said his son “let us know by text that his name was Daniel Nelson III. I feel blessed. I've got 13 grandkids, and this is just an incredible honor for my wife and me to have this baby and, obviously, have them named after me.”

Baby Daniel is a wonderful blessing to this family, and the day he arrived makes his arrival all the more special. He’s the perfect addition—his birthday certainly proves that. His father and grandfather are clearly delighted to have another person to share their birthday with.

Not sure how the Daniels are distinguished from one another—it might get a little confusing with them all having the exact same name. But the rest of the family will have no excuse for forgetting the Daniels’ shared birthday; that’s for sure!
